Profanity

Blogging Fodder

A common topic for the common people.

People nowadays are using obscenities to convey wrath, exclamation, or a mere expression. They are bored with themselves that they speak of it.

Filipinos usually use the P- word, the Tagalog form of son of a bitch. But nowadays, they use words that sound like it for laughter.

Ex.
Putong Inamoy
Pusang Inamoy
Put Tang in a Glass
Tanging Ina (Mo)
(Ang) Cute ng Ina Mo

and others…

The original meaning of the term was restricted to blasphemy, sacrilege or saying the Lord’s name in vain. Profanity represented a secular indifference to religion or religious figures, while blasphemy was a more offensive attack on religion and religious figures, and is known to be sinful. However, the term has been extended to include expressions with scatological, sexist, derogatory, racist, or sexual themes.
